New York City Cheap Moving and a Cambria Heights Overview

Cambria Heights is a neighborhood in the southeastern part of Queens. When you visit with your New York City Moving Service, you will find that it is bordered by Springfield Boulevard and Francis Lewis Boulevard to the west, Queens Village to the north, Elmont (Nassau County) to the east, and Montefiore Cemetery and Rosedale to the south.

Built from the ground up

Cambria Heights gets its name from the Cambria Construction Company of Pennsylvania, which began to develop the community in the late 1920s. Its original population was made up mostly of Roman Catholics of Italian, German, and Irish decent as well as Jewish families moving from Brooklyn. Today, when you visit with your New York City Moving Service you may notice that the community is made up of a large working class Caribbean and African American population.

Near Cambria Heights is Hollis, a community in southeastern Queens. The area that is today Hollis was originally settled by Dutch home setters in the 17th century. It became an important site during the Revolutionary War as part of the site of the Battle of Long Island. Hollis has been a hotbed of talent.
